To ensure you have the best possible time, we've compiled some essential tips and tricks to help you prepare for your tubing trip. Let's dive in!

Plan Ahead

Choose the Right Route

The Delaware River offers numerous routes ideal for tubing, each with its unique charm. Whether you're coming for the day, or you're camping along the Delaware River at one of our Kittatinny campgrounds, we have river trips perfect for everyone! Our tubing routes include:

Minisink to Barryville (Great for New York campers) — Novice route with calm water, known for its scenic beauty and small, mild rapids.
Westfall to River Beach (Great for Pennsylvania campers)— Most popular novice route with relaxing waters and passing ripples.

Timing is Everything

Tubing is best enjoyed during the summer months when the weather is warm, and the water levels are typically higher. Weekends can be crowded, so consider a weekday trip if you prefer a quieter experience. Early morning or late afternoon trips can also provide a more serene environment and stunning views.

Gear Up

Essential Tubing Gear

Tube: We provide the tube for your river trip! Tubes are available to adults and children who are at least 60 pounds, can properly fit in our open bottom tubes, and feel comfortable floating independently
Life Jacket: Safety first! Ensure everyone in your group wears a life jacket, regardless of their swimming ability. We provide everyone with a free life jacket.
Water Shoes: Footwear is required to protect your feet from sharp rocks and slippery surfaces.
Dry Bag: Keep your valuables dry and secure. Store items like your phone, wallet, and keys in a waterproof bag.
Sunscreen and Sunglasses: Protect yourself from the sun's rays, even on cloudy days.
Reusable Water Bottle: Stay hydrated throughout your trip. The sun and water can quickly dehydrate you.

Optional Extras

Cooler Tube: Float a cooler alongside you filled with drinks and snacks.
Rope: Handy for tying tubes together if you're in a group.
Hat and Lightweight Clothing: Extra protection against the sun and possible chilly breezes.

Safety First

Know the River Conditions

Check the weather forecast and river conditions before heading out. Avoid tubing during high water levels or storms, as these can create dangerous situations.

Stay Together

Tubing is more fun with friends! Stick together and keep an eye on each other throughout the journey. Establish meeting points along the way in case anyone gets separated.

Respect the Environment

The Delaware River is a natural treasure. Ensure you leave no trace by bringing a trash bag and collecting all your waste. Avoid disturbing wildlife and respect the natural surroundings.

Enjoy the Ride

Relax and Have Fun

Delaware River tubing is all about unwinding and enjoying the moment. Sit back, relax, and take in the stunning scenery. Let the gentle current carry you along, and don't forget to take plenty of photos!

Be Mindful of Time

Our tubing trips last 2-3 hours, so plan accordingly. Ensure you have enough time to complete your journey before sunset, as navigating the river in the dark can be hazardous.
